Hardware options installation 77
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the drives and the
internal system components to cool before touching them.
To install the component:
1.
Power down the server (on page 15 ).
2.
Remove all power:
a.
Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b.
Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3.
Do one of the following:
o
Extend the server from the rack (on page 15 ).
o
Remove the server from the rack (on page 18 ).
4.
Remove the access panel (on page 18 ).
5.
Remove the PCI riser cage (on page 21 ).
6.
If an expansion board is installed in slot 3, remove the board before installing the TPM.
CAUTION: Any attempt to remove an installed TPM from the system board breaks or
disfigures the TPM security rivet. Upon locating a broken or disfigured rivet on an installed
TPM, administrators should consider the system compromised and take appropriate measures
to ensure the integrity of the system data.
7.
Install the TPM board. Press down on the connector to seat the board (" System board components "
on page 10 ).
