Line Commands

history size

The 

history size

 Line Configuration mode command configures the command history buffer size 

for a particular line. To reset the command history buffer size to the default configuration, use the 

no

 form of this command.

Syntax

history size

 

number-of-commands

Parameters

number-of-commands — 

Number of commands that the system records in its history buffer. 

(Range: 10-216)

Default Setting

The default history buffer size is 10.

Command Usage

This command configures the command history buffer size for a particular line. To configure the 
command history buffer size for the current terminal session, use the 

terminal history size

 User 

EXEC mode command. The maximum number of commands in all buffers is 256.

Example
