Preparing

the

Analyzer

for

Measurements

The

analyzer

requires

proper

connection

of

cables

,

as

shown

in

the

HP

70000

Modular

Spectrum

Analyzer

Installation

and

V

erication

Manual.

Once

the

system

cables

are

connected,

most

analyzer

models

are

ready

for

use

after

they

have

been

calibrated,

continue

at

step

7.

The

following

procedure

provides

some

preliminary

checks

for

nonstandard

analyzers

.

F

ollow

the

procedure

to

activate

the

analyzer

,

and

check

its

hardware

and

error-correction

status

.

1.

Apply

power

to

all

mainframes

and

displays

in

the

system

by

setting

all

LINE

switches

on

(1).

2.

W

ait

about

5

seconds

while

the

analyzer

performs

a

self-check,

then

press

the

instrument-preset

key

,

or

3.

The

analyzer

is

operating

when

a

trace

sweeps

across

the

display

.

The

MEASURE

indicator

LED

illuminates

as

the

sweep

progresses

As

an

additional

indicator

lit

on

the

analyzer

modules

,

except

when

the

DISPLA

key

has

been

pressed.

Also

if

your
