The hold-back time allows a differential portion to be
allocated to the speed control. The current rise in
collector temperature multiplied by the hold-back
time produces the manipulated variable change
for the speed control. With the hold-back time,
the controller makes a forecast for the reference
value deviation and corrects it according to the
expected control deviation, i.e. it makes a correction
before the reference value deviation has built up.
Time horizon of the forecast = hold-back time.
