Connecting Fiber to a Medium-Distance Fiber Module
•
To make connections between short distance Fiber Modules TC-RPFS01
using prefabricated cables:
a)
Remove the protective covers from the
RX
(Recv) and
TX
(Xmit)
connectors for channel 1.
b)
Position the connector on the prefabricated cable so the blue pin
aligns with the
RX
(Recv) terminal and the black pin aligns with the
TX
(Xmit) terminal. Hold down the latch and plug the connector into the
terminals.
c)
Repeat these steps to connect the plug on the other end of the cable
to Channel 1 or 2 on a short distance Fiber module in another
Repeater/Fiber hub. The prefabricated cable is manufactured with the
fiber reversed on opposite ends. This automatically connects
RX
(Recv)
on one module with
TX
(Xmit) on another.
Connecting Fiber to a Short-Distance Fiber Module
(Note that the Fiber Module does not have a power switch, so it is powered
whenever the Repeater Adapter is powered.)
2
If applicable, repeat Step 1 for redundant ControlNet media.
3
Refer to Figures 5, 6, and 7 for examples of Repeater/Fiber hub cabling.
