Green/Off
The system is experiencing temporary network
errors. This condition normally corrects itself. If the
condition persists, check your nodes and cable
system. When checking the cable system, make
sure:
•
All BNC connector pins are properly seated.
•
All taps are connected properly.
•
All coax terminators are 75 ohms and installed at
both ends of all coax segments.
•
Coax cable has not been inadvertently grounded.
Red/Off
The system is experiencing a high level of network
errors. Check for broken cable or tap, and missing
segment terminator.
(Note that this is a
normal
indication for a system
that has
no
ControlNet nodes installed or enabled,
since it has
no
network activity. It is also a normal
indication for a Repeater Adapter used in a Hub
serving as a fiber-to-fiber repeater with no coax
cable connected.)
Fiber Module LEDs
The following table summarizes the meaning of typical LED indications on the Fiber
Module. The top LED shows the status of the Channel 1 connection and the bottom one
shows the status of the Channel 2 connection.
If LED is . . .
This means . . .
Off
The Fiber Module is not receiving power from the
Repeater Adapter or the Fiber Module is faulted.
Flashing Green/Off
No data activity on the associated channel.
