Refer to Safety Precautions on page 123.
Change the oil with the front final gear at normal operating
temperature to assure complete and rapid draining.
1. Park the Honda SXS on a firm, level surface.
2. Place an oil drain pan under the oil drain plug.
3. Remove the oil fill cap and the drain plug.
4. After the oil has completely drained, reinstall the drain plug with
a new sealing washer and tighten it to the specified torque:
9 lbf·ft (12 N·m, 1.2 kgf·m)
5. Fill the front final gear with the recommended oil.

6. Make sure the oil level is at the lower edge of the oil fill inspection hole.
7. Apply a thin coat of grease to a new O-ring, and insert it into the
oil fill cap groove.
8. Install and tighten oil fill cap to the specified torque:
9 lbf·ft (12 N·m, 1.2 kgf·m)
9. Pour the drained oil into a suitable container and dispose of it in
an approved manner (page 231).
