120 Volt AC Operations:
Shore power or optional generator is supplying AC voltage.
The water heater is plugged into the receptacle outlet.
The circuit beaker in the Load Center (circuit breaker panel) is On.
Turn the electric water heater switch to On.
NOTE:
It is not fuel efficient to use the generator to operate the water heater.
Draining & Storage
Drain the water heater to prevent freeze damage during storage.
CAUTION:
Wait for the water heater to cool before draining.
1. Turn off the electrical power to the water heater.
2. Shut off the propane supply to the water heater.
3. Open low point drains.
4. Open both Hot and Cold on all faucets.
5. Turn the Bypass valves to bypass positions.
CAUTION:
Be sure to refill the water heater before resuming operation. The water heater must be drained to
prevent damage from freezing during storage.
Tips
Turn off water heater when not in use to conserve propane.
When running the shower, conserve the heated water by shutting the shower water off when not in
immediate use.
The water heater element operates on approximately 12 Amps. When plugged into 30 Amp shore power
appliances may need to be operated in sequence to avoid tripping a breaker.
The Pressure Temperature Relief Valve on the outside of the water heater is set to open at 210º F or 150
psi. When water temperature and pressure reaches these settings the valve may drip until pressure has
dropped.
Do not
open the pressure valve manually. Replacement valves are available at most hardware
stores.
WARNING:
Before beginning any service or work on the water heater turn off the propane connection and
disconnect the 120 Volt AC and 12 Volt DC sources. Failure to do so can result in explosion, fire or
injury.
Troubleshooting
If water heater fails to light, check the outside burner tube for obstructions. Spiders or insects may make
nests in the burner tube.
If the indicator light on the water heater switch panel does not light, and the water heater does not light,
verify the battery switch is on, check for a blown fuse in the house distribution panel and confirm the
batteries are fully charged.
