2.7. Bedding-in brake pads
When delivered, your brake system initi ally only has a weak braking eff ect, as the
surfaces of the brake disc and brake pads have not yet been used for braking. With
your new vehicle and also if you change the brake disc and brake pads, you should
bed-in the disc brakes as follows:
•
Accelerate the vehicle to approx. 25 km/h
•
Decelerate to a stop using both brakes
•
Repeat the procedure unti l the braking eff ect improves suffi ciently. Recom-
mendati on for the Magura: 30x.
Risk of roll-over when using the front wheel brake forcefully!
You can go over the handlebar!
-> Apply less force to the left brake lever or release the brake lever when
you noti ce the rear wheel rising.

Checking the ti res
The tyre manufacturer Conti nental allows 3,0 - 4,0 bar of pressure for theContact II
47-622. The following applies:
•
The greater your weight, the higher the air pressure you should choose.
•
The rear tyre should be driven with slightly more pressure than the front
tyre (0.2-0.5 bar), as about 60% of the weight is applied to the rear wheel.
We recommend that you check the pressure every 2 to 4 weeks, as bike
tubes conti nuously and inevitably lose air.
If the tyre pressure is too low, the risk of snakebite punctures increases.
The result of a snakebite puncture is a fl at tyre.
A tyre damaged by cracks or foreign objects may lose its pressure. There
is a risk of accident!
-> Check for cracks or foreign objects in the tyre.
