Use of the vehicle is not recommended for the following groups:
• People with limited physical, sensory or mental capabiliti es
• People who cannot operate the vehicle safely due to their height
Modifi cati ons to your HNF-NICOLAI UD1 that increase motor performance
or increase the maximum assistance speed, put your safety at risk and
convert the vehicle from a pedelec to a moped. This may result in traffi c,
licensing, insurance, as well as regulatory and criminal consequences!
Rotati ng parts, such as wheels, pulleys, cranks or pedals, can pull in
clothing, stowed items and even body parts. For example, your scarf or
a bag att ached to the handlebar may get tangled in the spokes while
riding. If you slip off the pedals, your foot could get tangled in the spokes.
This can cause serious accidents!
-> Always wear ti ght-fi tti ng clothing.
-> Wear shoes with a fl at sole that off er good grip.
-> Do not att ach anything to the handlebar that could swing into the
front wheel.
A pedelec accelerates faster than a bicycle. Always bear in mind that other
road users cannot anti cipate your accelerati on capacity.
-> First practi ce handling your new UD1 in a traffi c-reduced area, before
you use it on the road.
-> Practi ce handling the brakes. See also secti on 4.4. “Brake system”.
Please check your country specifi c requirements concerning lighti ng devices and
decide which passive refl ectors are necessary to be mounted.
The rear refl ector is provided and may be att ached under the saddle.
