a. If you are using SFP modules without the “EEC” extension, then an operating temperature
range from +32 °F to +140 °F (0 °C to +60 °C) applies for your device (see page 59
“Accessories”) .
b. For devices with an extended temperature range equipped with more than 14 F/O ports, the
maximum operating temperature is reduced by 1 K for each additional F/O port. Example:
MACH1000 device with extended temperature range and 20 F/O ports: Operating
temperature = − 40 °F to +158 °F ( − 40 °C to +70 °C).
c. MACH1000 device equipped with “GG” Fast Ethernet modules (Singlemode Long Haul FX
DSC 200 km ): +32 °F to +140 °F (0 °C to +60 °C).
d. − 40 °F to +158 °F ( − 40 °C to +70 °C) for devices with PoE, devices with FL ports and
devices with 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports.
e. Relevant for UL508: maximum operating temperature (ambient air): +158 °F (+70 °C) for
device variants “U8” and “F”, +140 °F (+60 °C) for device variant “S”.
f. Relevant for explosion hazard areas and certification ISA 12.12.01 Class I, Division 2: The
maximum operating temperature for device variants “U” and “F” is +158 °F (+70 °C) and for
device variant “S” +140 °F (+60 °C) (see page 8 “Environment” ).
