4. To define multiple areas, press the CTRL key while drawing additional areas
before clicking Add/Change . Alternatively, each region can be drawn
individually and Add/Change is clicked after drawing each region to add it to
the macro.
5. To remove an area from a macro, select it in the plot area as in step 3, then
click on the Remove button. This feature can be used to cut away sections of
previously added regions.
6. After all areas have been defined click on the
Save Macro
button. This opens
a standard Save dialog box. Enter the filename of the saved macro, and click
Save . The areas to be scanned by the macro appear as shaded regions on
the 2D plot as shown in Figure 4.20 below.

Note: While the Edit Macro dialog box is open, you can still use the
cursor keys to move the stage and zoom in and out using the
zoom controls.
Loading a Macro
To use a macro for a scan, select Macro Load Macro from the Exicor menu bar.
Select the macro file you want to load and click on the Load button. The loaded
macro is listed in the Macro field at the top of the Exicor main window. This macro is
used for all subsequent scans until the macro is unloaded.
