Operating The System  

 

WARNING 

The Exicor 150AT birefringence measurement system contains 
hazards such as a laser, potential pinch points, and electrical 
connections.  

All operators should be aware of the main power switch and 
Emergency OFF Switch (EMO). 

To ensure continued safety, all operators should familiarize 
themselves with the Operators' Safety Summary section, 
beginning on page 1. 

System Initialization 

To initialize the Exicor 150AT system: 

1.  Flip the rocker switch located at the rear of the machine. 

WARNING 

The following step will activate the motion control system.  Avoid 
pinch & crush hazards by staying away from the system when it 
is in motion.   

 

2.  Launch the software program by double-clicking the Exicor desktop icon.  

Upon system initialization, a diagnostic screen will appear as shown in  
Figure 2.1.  This diagnostic feature verifies proper hardware communication.
