Possible reasons:

There is no backup device connected with the DVR.

The DVR and your backup device are not compatible.

Initialize the backup device before using.

The backup device is damaged.

The IP camera shows offline after added.
Possible reasons:
a)
Network connection error. Make sure that the IP camera and NVR are connected properly and are in the same IP
segment.
b)
The password of IP camera is incorrect.
c)
Exception occurs when adding the IP camera. You can delete the IP camera and try to add it again.
d)
The IP camera and the NVR firmware are incompatible. You can try again with another IP camera.

The IP camera is added to the 4000 / 4200 client successfully, while no video signal is available for live view.
Possible reasons:
a)
The stream parameters of the IP camera and NVR do not match. Make sure the stream type, main stream parameters
and sub stream parameters of the IP camera and NVR should be consistent.
b)
The IP camera and the NVR firmware are incompatible. You can try again with another IP camera.
