• Primary riser cage, slots 2 and 4.
• Butterfly riser cage, slots 9 and 11.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury, electric shock, or damage to the equipment, remove power from
the server by removing the power cord. The front panel Power On/Standby button does not shut off system power.
Portions of the power supply and some internal circuitry remain active until AC power is removed.
CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling or thermal damage, the server PCI slots must have an expansion slot blank
or an expansion board installed.
Prerequisites
Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have the following items available:
• The components included with the hardware kit.
• T-30 Torx screwdriver.
• A T-10 Torx screwdriver might be needed to unlock the access panel.
• One cable kit supports up to three GPU cards. Install a second GPU cable kit if installing more than three GPU cards in
the server.

Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.

Do one of the following:
• Extend the server from the rack (

Remove the access panel (
CAUTION: Do not operate the server for long periods with the access panel open or removed. Operating the
server in this manner results in improper airflow and improper cooling that can lead to thermal damage.
