Accessing the Internet through AOL
Many online services and providers offer services in addition to surf-
ing the Internet, such as home banking, your own home page, or
access to special databases.
Many computer magazines regularly publish comparisons and test of
online services and Internet service providers which might be helpful
for you.

Accessing the Internet through AOL
This section explains how you configure
WebShuttle II
and your
computer to access the Internet through “America Online” (or AOL
for short). To access the Internet as well as AOL’s own services, you
use the AOL software. You find it on the AOL CD-ROM.
3.1.1 Setting up a COM port
Despite the fact that the
WebShuttle II
is an ISDN adapter, you have
to configure it as a modem to make the AOL software work with it.
The connection is made via ISDN and you get the full ISDN speed.

2. Choose COM Port settings from the left list.
3. Click New.
4. Choose “X.75” as Default Protocol.
5. Click Add.
6. Click OK to close the control panel.
