Possible malfunctions
Immobilizer does not function:
- Check the power supply to the plug contacts
- Check the plug-in aerial connection
- Check the aerial cable (see ‘Testing the aerial’)
- Use a key with a trained transponder
Cannot train any keys:
- Terminal 30 is not connected to the control unit
- No master key or the wrong master key (red handle) was previously used
- The master key was in the ignition for too long, or not long enough
- The key you are trying to train has no transponder
- The aerial is defective (see ‘Testing the aerial’)
- The key was in the ignition too briefl y
Cannot clear any trained keys:
- You are not using a master key or are using the wrong master key (red handle)
- The master key was in the ignition too briefl y
- The aerial is defective (see ‘Testing the aerial’)
Testing the aerial
- Check the aerial cable for breaks or kinks
- Check the aerial plug for faulty contacts
Measuring the aerial parameters:
- Unplug the aerial from the control unit
- Measure the resistance on aerial pins 1 and 2
- The resistance of the aerial plus 1 meter of aerial cable should be about 7.5Ω.
