The switching fabric module installation procedure is the same for the S12500-X switches. This section
uses the S12510-X AC switch as an example.
To install a switching fabric module on an S12510-X AC switch:
1.
Wear an ESD wrist strap, and make sure it makes good skin contact and is reliably grounded. For
more information, see "
."
2.
Remove the filler panel (if any) from the target slot. See
.
Keep the filler panel for future use.
3.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the switching fabric module to the protection box, pull the
ejector levers on the switching fabric module outward by holding the ejector levers and pressing
the buttons on the ejector levers. Then pull out the module from the protection box. See
Keep the protection box for future use.
4.
Orient the switching fabric module with the PCB facing up. Hold the switching fabric module by
the front panel with one hand and by the left side with the other. Slide the switching fabric module
steadily into the target slot along the guide rails.
Do not touch the components on the PCB.
5.
As shown by callout 1 in
, push the switching fabric module until the brakes on
the ejector levers touch the slot edges tightly.
6.
As shown by callout 2 in
, press the ejector levers inward until the ejector levers
touch the panel tightly and the switching fabric module seats into the backplane.
7.
As shown by callout 3 in
, fasten the captive screws on the switching fabric
module.
