9. Start again the complete sequence as long as needed,
10. While the engine is stabilized at 0 – 5%, then increase to 10 – 20%
gradually.
However, always remember :
!
NEVER insist on the starter after the first sneeze. The engine will
NOT start, and the battery will die,
!
Inject fuel. There is no possibility to flood a cold engine with the
CABRI’s electronic ignition,
!
Keep the throttle closed to avoid suffocating the engine.
Note 1
: A simpler practice than keeping the battery in a warm place – though
less effective – is to keep it connected to an external charger during several
hours before starting. Its loss current will keep it warmer.
Note 2
: As long as the engine is in its running-in period with monograde
straight mineral oil (first 50 hours), it is recommended to preheat the engine
before attempting to start below -10°C (14°F).
The very high viscosity of such monograde oil at these cold temperatures
increases the starter torque and current, while battery has low power.
Moreover, the clutch cylinder being actuated by the engine oil, in this case the
clutching could take a very long time after the engine has started.
Different preheating techniques exist, including setting an electric heater below
the engine, directed to the carburetor and the oil sump, or using a special hose
connected to a car exhaust, etc.
Note 3
: During winter period, it is recommended to install the cooling flow
restrictor
G52-05-200
on the engine scroll inlet grid, in order to run the engine
warmer. Refer to relevant installation instructions or to the Maintenance
Manual.
