3. Enter the information for the new user, including User Name, Password, Level and the User’s MAC Address.
- Level: Set the user level to “Operator” or “Guest”. Different user levels have different operating permission.
> Operator: The Operator user level has permission for the Two-way Audio in Remote Configuration and all
operating permissions in the Camera Configuration by default.
> Guest: The Guest user has no permission for the Two-way Audio in Remote Con
fi
guration and only has the
local/remote playback permission in the Camera Configuration by default.
- User’s MAC Address: The MAC address of the remote PC which logs onto the NVR/DVR. If it is configured and
enabled, it only allows a remote user with this MAC address to access the NVR/DVR.
4. Click the “OK” button to save the settings and go back to the “User Management” interface. The added new
user will be displayed on the list, as shown below.
5. Select the user from the list and then click the “(tick)” button to enter the Permission settings interface, as
shown below.

Local Configuration:
- Local Log Search: Searching and viewing logs and the system information of the NVR/DVR.
- Local Parameters Settings: Configuring the parameters, restoring the factory default parameters and
importing/exporting the configuration files.
- Local Camera Management: The adding, deleting and editing of IP cameras.
- Local Advanced Operation: Operating the HDD management (initialising the HDD, setting the HDD property),
upgrading the system firmware, clearing the I/O alarm output.
- Local Shutdown Reboot: Shutting down or rebooting the NVR/DVR.
