PROBLEMS RELATED TO SEP 40 TO PC CONNECTION
Due a large variety of parallel port types, a case may occur when the programmer cannot “get
concerted” with the PC. This problem may be shown as none communication between the PC and
the programmer, or by unreliable communication.
- If this behavior occurs, try to connect your programmer to some other PCs or other parallel ports
near you.
- Please remember that the printer port where the programmer is connected must be configured
as IEEE 1284 compatible. You should check in the BIOS configuration of Your computer that
the port is set as ECP/EPP. Or, if You use a multi I/O card, assure that it can be configured and
used as IEEE 1284 compatible.
- Try to set the parallel port as Centronics compatible (or standard, or normal, or SPP, according
to the BIOS manufacturer, all these denominations refer to the same setting for the parallel
port). This could decrease performance but assure the highet communication reliability.

Don’t forget please to tell PC type, manufacturer, speed, operating system type and version, resident
programs; your parallel port I/O manufacturer and type.
LEDS
SEP 40 is provided with 4 LEDs to visualize power supply status and operating programmer status.
Please refer to figure 11 to locate the LEDs.

LED COLOUR DESCRIPTION
Power LED Green
At power on, it lights for a few seconds, then turns
off.
BUSY LED Red
When on, indicated that the programmer is
accessing the target device for reading or writing.
Do not touch the target device when this LED is
on.
GOOD LED Green
When on, this LED indicates that the last operation
concluded successfully.
ERROR LED Yellow
When on, this LED indicated that an error
condition occoured.
