NOTE:
when recording alarm/slowhoop tones make sure to use triangle shaped tone signals having
a crest factor of 1.732 (4.77 dB) or higher. Sine wave shaped signal are not allowed: all 48 VDC
currents for power consumption are measured using a triangle shaped emergency tone signal!
See below for an example of a triangle based slowhoop signal, starting at around 500-700 Hz
and increasing to 1200-1400 Hz in 3.5 seconds:
When adding pre-recorded messages, these should have a crest factor of about 12 dB.
Example of a slowhoop alarm signal and pre-recorded (multiple language) message(s):
The alarm tone is played two times followed by a pause of 1 to 2 seconds before the spoken
message(s) are played. This will be repeated as long as the emergency is activated. Refer to local
standards for duration, multi language and other requirements of pre-recorded messages and
alarm tones.
Test tone message:
The ‘test tone’ message can be used during setup of the line monitoring of an output of the
system. After the zone has been put in test mode (no monitoring takes place) the ‘test tone’
message can be activated and will be played in this zone. This will help to check if all cabling
and loudspeakers are properly wired and connected – the customer will not be annoyed by any
emergency messages while setting up or maintaining the system. It is allowed to exchange this
test-tone to another test tone, as long as there is one available! Make sure to put the specific
output(s) back in operating mode by turning off the ‘test mode function’ in the software, before
ending the maintenance/setup of the system.
SD card removal:
To remove the internal SD cards, make sure to Power off the unit first before removing the small
cover plate at the back:
