C48 error input:
connect to the error output contact (48 VDC in & out contact in parallel) of the
eXentro C48 Charger. The ECU unit will generate a general error and it will display an 'C48 error'.
For more info see also eXentro Charger C48manual.
GPO output contact (NO):
this potential free output contact is activated when there is a 230
VAC failure, but no emergency takes place: this can be used to trigger the standby inputs of the
PA amplifiers to reduce current consumption (Energy save mode). As soon as an emergency
message is activated, this output is released again and the amplifier returns in operating mode.
During monitoring of the amplifier and connected speaker lines, the amplifier will return to
operating mode shortly.
NOTE:
Make sure that all amplifier channels, from the amplifiers which are controlled by the GPO
contact of an ECU, are connected to this same ECU. No connection of amplifiers shall be made to
another ECU. Each ECU will trigger its GPO independantly!
See also eXentro PA power amplifier manual for more information.
System Fault (NO):
this potential free output contact is activated during system failures due by
MCU & data storage devices of the system.
Error 1 contact output (NO):
this potential free general error output contact is activated as
long as there is an error in the system. An internal jumper can be set to change this output to a
normally closed contact (NO is default).
Error 2 contact output (NO):
this potential free general error output contact is activated as long
as there is an error in the system, also when the eXentro ECU is de-energized.
PSU failure contact output (NO):
this potential free output contact is activated when a PSU
failure (230 VAC) is found in the system.
12.9 48 VDC battery backup input:
48 VDC input to connect to the eXentro Charger (C48). When the 230 VAC mains power fails, the
system automatically switches to the 48 VDC input. When the system is running on 48 VDC the
source inputs will be muted, reducing current draw of the batteries.
To monitor the status of the 48 VDC connection, this input needs to be calibrated.
WARNING: It is possible to not mute the audio when operating from 48 VDC, but this will
reduce the battery capacity quickly! Increase the battery capacity accordingly and check local
regulations if this is allowed. Use the eXentro ECU installer software to set this feature.
The ECU system includes a feature to trigger the standby input of the PA amplifiers, reducing
idle current consumption and with that reducing the total capacity of the connected batteries.
See also GPO output contact function.
The C48 unit provides a maximum current of 150 A at 48 VDC, divided over 6 outputs of 40 A
maximum (used to connect to the PA amplifiers) and 3 outputs of 5 A (used to connect ECU
units or other devices in the system). Make sure to calculate the maximum consumption of all
connected devices when running at full power: this should not exceed 150 A in total.
See Appendix F for examples of battery capacity calculations. The maximum battery capacity of
a single C48 is 225 Ah: connect 4 batteries of 12 V/225 Ah in series using the right cabling set.
See C48 manual for more details.
12.10 Storage of system design and settings:
The system design and all settings are stored on a removable memory chip. In case a unit fails;
remove the memory chip and put it in a new ECU unit. Make sure the hardware configuration is
