230 VAC mains & Mains filter:
Mount the AC mains filter(s) at the bottom of the 19” rack, as close to the mains cable entry at
the rear of the 19” rack. Make sure the body of the AC filter is properly mounted to an unpainted
part of the metal of the bottom of the 19” rack or tightly mounted to the copper screws for best
Earth connection. Wire the AC mains cable directly to the mains filter, see picture below.
Depending on the AC power consumption of the VACIE more AC mains filter
may be required. Wire and distribute the AC mains
power accordingly.
Check local standards for electrical
installation requirements!
Mains filter types:
• 16A: Epcos B84112GB116
• 36A: Epcos B84112GG136
Connect the output of the AC mains filter to the surge protectors first (if used), before the wiring
is split to the different circuit breakers:
*See paragraph ‘ECU error inputs’ below for more information
Surge protection (Class II) is used to protect the VACIE for very quick high voltage surges like
lightning strokes. The use of these depends on local electrical installation requirements.
To prevent that all VACIE components will switch to the emergency power supply, in case
of a single 230 VAC failure in or to a single component, a circuit breaker can be used for each
individual component. This will also save battery capacity as not all components but only one
