NOTICE
Make sure the spare tyre cover
is completely closed before
opening the swing-gate.
Opening the swing-gate with
the spare tyre cover unlatched
could damage the vehicle.
After installing the spare tyre on
your vehicle, stop as soon as possi-
ble to make sure the tyre is correct-
ly inflated.
Storing Tyre and Jacking
Equipment
TYRE STORAGE
Store the flat tyre where the spare
tyre was stored.
To restow the tyre on the spare
tyre carrier, do the following:
1. Release the latch and open the
spare tyre cover.
2. Mount the tyre on the swing-
gate.
- NOTE:
This step may require two
people.
3. Install the wheel nuts and
tighten by hand.
4. Tighten the nuts firmly using
the wheel wrench.
For wheels with a wheel lock
key, use the wheel lock key
between the lock nut and
wrench.
5. Try to move the tyre with your
hands to be sure that it is
secured in place.
6. When you install the wheel
and tyre, you must also re-
install the centre cap. Place
the cap on the wheel and tap
it into place until it sits flush
with the wheel.
7. Always close and latch the
spare tyre cover.
