IDENTIFICATION
NUMBER
The primary location for the vehi-
cle identification number is on the
chassis rail, below the driver’s side
B-pillar.
The secondary location for the
vehicle identification number is a
plate in the front corner of the
instrument panel, on the left side.
You can see it if you look through
the windscreen from outside your
vehicle.
The number may also be found in
one or more of the following
locations:
• Service Parts Identification
Label
• Certification/Tyre Label
• Safety Compliance Label
Each character or digit in a vehicle identification number serves a
purpose in identifying your vehicle. Use the following chart to help you
understand your vehicle’s identification number.
The eighth character of the vehicle identification number is the engine
code. This code will help you identify your engine, specifications and
replacement parts.
