2. With the vehicle stopped or
moving less than 3 km/h
(2 mph), press the locking
rear axle button. The indicator
light will start flashing. When
the indicator light stays on
solid, the rear axle is locked.
The locking rear axle will disen-
gage if the vehicle’s speed exceeds
32 km/h (20 mph), if the vehicle
battery is low, or if the transfer
case is shifted out of the Four-
Wheel Low Lock mode.
NOTICE
Do not use the locking rear axle
on pavement.
Otherwise, vehicle drivetrain
components could be
damaged.
The repairs would not be
covered by your warranty.
Use only the Four-Wheel High
transfer case mode when travel-
ling on pavement.

Power Steering
If you lose power steering assist
because the engine stops or the
system is malfunctioning, you can
still steer but it will take much
more effort.
