Setting up Remote Management
Remote Management allows you to configure the Gigaset SE555 WLAN dsl via a PC that
is not in the local network by using a standard Web browser. You can permit Remote
Management for one particular PC or for any PCs.
For security reasons, this function is only available if you have previously changed the
system password of your device (see page 93).

In the
Administration
menu, select
Remote Management
.

For
Remote Management
, activate the
On
option if you wish to permit Remote
Management.
To start Remote Management, enter the public IP address in the Internet browser. As
Internet service providers often change this address with each dial-in, it is also worth
using a dynamic DNS (see page 68).

You can change the
Port
that you use to access the configuration program from the
Internet, for example to hide the configuration program and protect it from unau-
thorised access.

Allowed connections
: You can specify one particular PC for Remote Management
or permit this function for any PCs. Select the required option from the list.
Note:
If you permit several PCs, anyone who finds out the system password can access
this user interface and therefore also the network! If you require this option, you
should only activate it for a short time.
