Check the Lifting Chain
Adjustment
Genie specifications require that this procedure be
per
formed every 250 hours or quarterly, whichever
comes first.
Maintaining proper adjustment of the lifting chains
is essential to safe machine operation. Failure to
maintain proper chain adjustment could result in
unsafe operating conditions and may cause
co
mponent damage.

Fully lower the platform to the stowed position.

Measure the maximum height of the machine.
IWPS models:
Turn the screw jacks
counterclockwise to the full up position. Pull
the base lowering handle to lower the base.
Result: The machine should be no taller than
specification.
Note: If measurement does not meet specification,
adjust the chains. Refer to Repair Procedure,

AWPS models:
Measure the distance
between the top of the base frame and the
bottom edge of the platform.
IWP models:
Measure the distance between
the bottom edge of the platform to the top of
the counterweight.
Result: The measurement should be no less
than specif
ication.
Note: If measurement does not meet
specification, adjust the chains. Refer to
Repair Procedure,
