Changing the navigation source:
From the 'CDI', 'HSI', or 'HSI Map' Page, touch the CDI Button to cycle through each CDI
source.
Or :
1)
From any page, open the menu and select
System > CDI Source
.
2)
Select the desired CDI source.
NOTE:
The internal GPS is only for VFR use.
Selecting the NAV radio radial:
1)
From the 'CDI' Page, touch the OBS Datafield.
Or :
From the 'HSI' or 'HSI Map' Page, touch the CRS Datafield.
2) Turn the Inner Knob to modify the selected radial.
Centering the NAV radio radial:
From the 'CDI' Page, touch and hold the OBS Datafield or touch the OBS Datafield and
push the Inner Knob.
Or
:
From the 'HSI' or 'HSI Map' Page, touch and hold the CRS Datafield or touch the CRS
Datafield and push the Inner Knob.
CDI Scale
The CDI Scale will correspond to the current flight phase mode. The following modes are
available using the internal VGPS:
»
OCN: the scale for Oceanic Mode is 4.0 nm.
»
ENR: the scale for Enroute Mode is 2.0 nm.
»
TERM: the scale for Terminal Mode is 1.0 nm.
If the MFI is configured to receive navigation guidance from another onboard compatible
source, the CDI scale is determined by the external source and may support other flight phase
modes such as approach and missed approach. See the pertinent flight manual for the external
source for more information.
Lateral and Vertical Guidance Preview
The MFI can preview the lateral and vertical guidance pointers on the correct final approach
course when an ILS, LOC, BC, LDA, or SDF approach is active in the external navigator and
the navigator is using GPS until intercepting the final approach NAVAID.
