FLTA Alert Minimum Terrain and Obstacle Clearance Values
In addition to the FLTA alerting discussed previously, external TAWS-B may be configured to
provide the following alert types: Excessive Descent Rate, Negative Climb Rate, and Premature
Descent.
Terrain Alerts - Primary ADI and Primary HSI
When a threat is detected (terrain, obstacle, or wire), a 'TER' annunciation will be displayed
on each page. This annunciation will flash for five seconds before being displayed steady until
the threat is cleared. Both caution and warning annunciations may be displayed.

In addition to the 'TER' annunciation, the MFI may also provide aural alerts (the Terrain
Proximity function does not provide aural alerts). If an external TAWS-B system is configured,
aural alerts may be provided by the external system.
NOTE:
Only visual annunciations will be provided if the Terrain Function is using an
external TAWS-B system. For information on TAWS-B aural alerts, see the pertinent
flight manual for that system.
