Malfunctions
The pump shuts off due to overheating. (Thermal motor cut-off switch)
Causes:
Remedy:
Water level too low. Suction parts clogged
- foreign object stuck in the pump rotor.
Temperature of the liquid to be pumped
is too high (may not 35 °C in per-
manent operation).
Submerge pump deeper. Check and
clean. Reduce the temperate of the liquid.
Wait until the motor has cooled off (motor
cut-off switch, approx. 25 min.).
Pump runs but does not drain.
Causes:
Remedy:
Water level below minimum suction
height. When submerging the pump and/
or in automatic operation, air bubbles may
form in the pump due to an inadequate
position of the float switch. This happens
if the pump does not stop at minimum
water level and sucks in air instead. Suc-
tion filter clogged. Drain pipe clogged.
Turn the pump off. Let the air escape by
tilting the pump and submerging it in
the water again. Remove contamination.
Clean pipe.
Reposition the pipe and clean.
Reduced discharge rate.
Causes:
Remedy:
Drain pipe bent or diameter reduced.
Base/rotor dirty. Partially clogged.
Straighten pipe.
Increase diameter. Clean.
