Place the lid with drying motor on the top Drying Rack. Plug the power cord into a power outlet
corresponding to the voltage marked on the underside of the unit, and turn the power on.

Dehydrating food is an efficient way of preserving food. Using a controlled heat temperature, air is
circulated from the top of the unit to each of the five tray and base to removes moisture from food.
This method of drying seals in the flavours and nutrient and vitamin content.
Storage of dried food
Drying fresh, ripe fruit and vegetables allows you to enjoy these luxuries all year round. You can
now consume your choice of Summer fruits in the middle of Winter. Storing of food is easy and
takes up little storage space. Dried food has a long shelf life in air tight storage jars.

preservatives, no artificial colouring, and only natural additives.
Versatility
You can dry herbs and spices and flowers to make potpourri. You can even enjoy the advantages
of rehydrating foods to make instant additions to soup, sauces, casserole and baby food.

Food Dehydrator. A variety of fruit rolls such as pear, berry and apple rolls. You can make tasty,

Use Quality Food (if available). Best results are achieved when quality food is used. Select pro

duce at the peak of ripeness and flavour, for the highest nutritional content. You can dry overripe
produce if desired, as long as you remove all the poor areas.
Wash Food
Food should be washes thoroughly, removing soft or spoiled area. Be certain that your hands,
cutting utensils and food preparation area are clean.
Pre-treatment
Pre-treatment makes food look better, taste better, dry faster, stop ripening process, and increases
the shelf life. Some methods are listed as follow:
• Natural pre-treatment: For drying fruits, lemon juice and pineapple juice may be used to prevent
browning.
• Blanching: Some fruits or vegetables, with natural protective wax coating, may need to be
blanched to speed the drying process.
• Steam Blanching: Some vegetables with a long cooking time require steam blanching.
Food Uniformly
Produce can be shredded, sliced or diced. 5 mm (1/4”) slices are best for efficient drying.
