Special safety instructions for this unit

Operate the appliance only in accordance with the specifications on the rating plate.
–
Before using your Food Dehydrator for the first time, the unit must be run in for 30 minutes.
Please do not place any food for drying during this period. After the running in period, please
clean and rinse the unit according to the instructions indicated in the following section
„Cleaning and maintenance“.

Use well away from walls and curtains. Avoid using metal surfaces, e.g. sink.

Never leave an appliance unattended when in use.
–
Do not use an appliance for other than its intended use.
–
Do not place an appliance on or near a hot gas flame, electric element or in a heated oven.
–
Do not place on top of any other appliance.
–
Do not let the power cord of an appliance hang over the edge of a bench top or touch any hot
surface.
–
Never cover the appliance with towels or similar objects. A covered appliance is a fire risk.
–
Switch the appliance to ‘O’ or “OFF ‘before disconnecting the plug.
–
Do not carry the appliance when hot.
–
Use original accessory parts only.
Features of your food dehydrator
1 Lid with Drying Motor
Acts as a lid for the Food Dehydrator and contains the motor and
ON/OFF switch. Air vents on the lid allow air to be circulated.
2 Drying Racks
Hold the food in place for easy drying. Each rack holds for
exaple, approximately 3 sliced apples. Your unit includes 5 Drying
Racks.
3 Enclosed Base
The base can be used for making fruit rolls, drying herbs and
potpourri.
4 Rubber Feet
5 Holds the Food Dehydrator in place
and prevents it from scratching the bench top.
5 On/Off Switch
Enables the Drying Motor to be switched on and off.
Instructions for Use
When using for the first time, allow the appliance to run empty for 30 minutes. Then rinse the trays
– never the appliance – with water and dry them with a cloth. Your appliance is now ready to use!
(You need only do this the first time you use the appliance).
Temperature Setting
The 2-setting control is used to set the right temperature for the produce to be dehydrated . Select
setting 1 for produce with a low water content such as herbs, mushrooms, spinach, onions etc.,
and setting 2, for produce with a high water content e.g. pears, citrus, etc. Do not afraid to experi

ment a bit. You will soon have a clear idea of which setting is best for your particular produce.
Arrange the food on the Drying Racks, ensuring the pieces of food are not quite touching, to allow
air to circulate freely. Place Drying Racks onto the Base. To use unit efficiently, use only the num
-
ber of racks needed.
