MAINTENANCE & TROUBLESHOOTING
VSRT-IOM-2022-0728
SECTION 4
6. Clean all system strainers for steam, water, and fuel.
7. Check operation of all steam traps on all boiler and system piping.
8.
For VSRT 9.5, 80-250 BHP:
Inspect the c
ombustion air inlet filter. If dust, lint,
or debris has accumulated such that the filter appears heavily loaded visually,
replace the filter immediately.
Burner Components
Check the linkage and cams for wear and loose parts. Replace and worn parts
immediately.
Replacing the Combustion Air Inlet Filter
(VSRT-9.5, 80-250 HP)
The combustion air inlet filter must be replaced at a minimum once per year.
Active construction sites and installations with high airborne contaminants
willrequire more frequent replacement.
Proceed as follows:
1. Remove the filter. The filter sits in the slot on the suction side of the blower
inside the boiler cabinet.
2. If debris has plugged or contaminated the filter, the filter must be replaced.
NOTE:
Operating the burner with the c
ombustion air inlet filter removed will void
the burner warranty. A clean filter of the same Fulton part number (type, size and
style) must be installed while the boiler is in operation.
3. 3. Return the filter to its original position in the slot, verify orientation.
Recommended Semi-Annual Maintenance Schedule
The following steps should be carried out semi-annually:
1. Check combustion settings for all fuels.
2. Check and adjust combustion to the correct settings.
3. Check for proper operation of steam traps in your system.
4. Check feedwater pumps for correct operation.
5. Check and clean burner.
6. Check settings of flame rod (if applicable) and ignition electrode.
7. Inspect ignition electrode for cracks.
8. Clean water safety and level probes.

CAUTION
If the gasket leaks while pressure is being
built up, tighten only enough to stop
leakage. Never tighten more than necessary
to prevent leakage. Excessive tightening may
shorten the life of the gasket.
