Starting the task
I
Read the accompanying documentation supplied with the expansion
card before proceeding.
Ê
Perform the following procedures:
1.
"Opening the rack door" on page 40
2.
"Locate the faulty server" on page 37
3.
"Sliding the server out of the rack" on page 42
4.
"Removing the rear cover" on page 46
5.
"Locate the faulty component by PRIMERGY diagnostics indicators" on
page 39
6. If applicable:
"Mounting expansion card slot brackets" on page 107
7. If applicable:
"Preparing the SFP+ transceiver module" on page 115

Deactivating the expansion card
Ê
Deactivate the expansion card using either the related PCI hot-plug software
or by pressing the light-pipe switch, see A in
Figure 70
.
Ê
Wait until the light-pipe switch no longer lights up.
The slot is now zero potential.
Ê
If applicable, disconnect the cables on the expansion card.
