6.3.3 Replacing expansion cards
Note on network settings recovery

When replacing network controllers or the system board, network
configuration settings in the operating system will be lost and replaced
by default values. This applies to all static IP address and LAN teaming
configurations.
Ensure to note down your current network settings before replacing a
controller or the system board.
6.3.3.1 Preliminary steps
Perform the following procedures:

Locate the desired server node with the ID button.

Remove all external cables from the server node.
Ê

"Removing the riser module" on page 41
6.3.3.2 Removing an expansion card
Ê
Remove the defective expansion card as described in "Removing a
controller from the riser module" on page 111 .
Ê
If applicable, remove SFP+ transceiver modules from the expansion card,
as described in section
"Removing an SFP+ transceiver module" on
page 103 .
Ê
If the slot bracket on the defective expansion card is to be reused, remove it
from the board as described in section
"Mounting expansion card slot
brackets" on page 95 .
