Setting a password

Start the BIOS Setup Utility.

Use the [

] keys to select [Security] from the [Main] menu and press the
[Enter] key.
The [Security] menu appears.

Use the [

] [
↓
] keys to select the type of password to set.
• When setting an administrator password
Move the cursor to [Change Supervisor Password] and press the [Enter] key.
• When setting a user password
Move the cursor to [Change User Password] and press the [Enter] key.
The password entry window appears.

Enter a password in the [Enter New Password] up to six alphanumerical
characters.
Blocks are displayed instead of the letters entered.

Press the [Enter] key.
To cancel the password setting, press the [Esc] key.

In the [Confirm New Password] field, enter the password you have entered in
Step 4 and press the [Enter] key.
Display in [Supervisor Password] or [User Password] changes from [Not Installed] to [Installed].
Logging on as a user enables you to set the user authority only, such as user password.
Changing and deleting a password
If a password is already set, you can change or delete it in [Change Supervisor (User) Password].

When changing a password, enter a new one in the [Enter New Password] field
on the password entry screen.
When deleting a password, execute step 3 without entering any characters.

When changing a password, enter the password entered in step 1 in the
[Confirm New Password] again.
When deleting a password, execute step 3 without entering any characters.

Press the [Enter] key.
When the password is deleted, [Not installed] is displayed in [System Password] or [Setup
Password] of the [Security] menu.
