G.2 Configuring IPv6 Settings for the Scanner
G.2.1 Installing the IPv6 Function
Install the IPv6 function in the following procedure:

Checking the System Version
1. An administrator checks that the system version of the scanner is
"ns001 01.07.01.xxxx" or later via the Admin Tool or the touch panel.
If the system version is old (lower than "ns001 01.07.01.xxxx"), update the system
via the Admin Tool.
For details about how to check the system version, refer to
"4.15.1 Viewing the
System Status" (page 160) .
For details about how to update the scanner, refer to "4.17.1 Updating the
Scanner's System Software" (page 175) .

Enabling the IPv6 Function
1. An administrator logs in to the scanner via the Admin Tool or the touch
panel.
For details, refer to "4.2 Administrator Login" (page 72) .
2. When using the touch panel, select [Advanced] for the setting mode on
the [Admin Menu] window.
For details, refer to "4.3.1 Configuring the Setting Mode" (page 77) .
3. On the [Network Advanced Settings] window under [Network Settings],
set the IPv6 function to [On].
For details, refer to "4.7.7 Configuring Network Advanced Settings" (page 108) .

Configuring an IPv6 Communication Environment
1. An administrator logs in to the scanner via the Admin Tool or the touch
panel.
For details, refer to "4.2 Administrator Login" (page 72) .
2. Configure the network settings.
3. After you have configured all items, press the [Logout] button.
