Fan failure
Ê
Use the error LED in the control panel (see
page 39
) to determine whether
the system fan or power supply fan has failed.
Ê
Check that the ventilation slots are not covered.
Ê
If the error occurs again, contact your service partner.
5.5
Replacing the backup device
Ê
You switch off the backup device you wish to replace as follows:
–
The power switch is in position I:
Switch the backup subsystem to the setting Remote by moving the power
switch to position R (see
page 40
).
Switch off the server to which the backup device is connected or
disconnect the related external cable to this server.

The power switch is in position R:
Switch off the server to which the backup device is connected or
disconnect the related external cable to this server.
Once you have successfully switched off the backup device, the related drive
indicator (Drive Power 1...4) in the control panel goes out (see
page 39
).

There are different possiblilities of configuration beween in the Input
of the input module and the backup devices. The in factory setted
standard configuration you can find in the
section “Connecting the
backup subsystem” on page 33
. If you need an other configuraton
please contact the service.
For the SCSI daisy chain configuration, two backup devices are
connected internally to one SCSI cable. In this case, both backup
devices must be switched off.
