Connecting the backup subsystem

Connecting SAS cables

Shut down the server.
Ê
You can assign up to four SAS ports on your backup subsystem (see
figure
“Ports on a SAS/SATA backup subsystem” on page 34
). You must ensure
that Channels A to D are assigned in the correct order.
For the factory-provided SAS configuration, the connectors on the rear side and
the drives on the front are connected 1:1.

The change of these settings (drive / connector correlation )should only
be performed by our service team or by a technical specialists

You can assign up to four USB ports on your backup subsystem (see

).
