4.5 Replacing the Brake Roller Unit

5.

Pull the Brake roller toward you to remove it.
 

6.

 Install a new Brake roller unit in the reverse order of its removal. By 
holding the bail toward you, put the Brake roller into bracket and rotate 
down until it locks in.

7.

Install the Guide plate in the reverse order of the removal. By pressing the 
Guide plate down and pushing the Guide plate back, you can install it 
smoothly. 

8.

Lower the ADF upper sheet guide carefully. 

9.

Lift the Upper transport unit to release the safety lock, then lower the unit 
carefully and push the unit to close it completely. 

10. Clear the Brake roller counter. 

Please refer to the section “7.3  Setup Mode Details”, “  9. Abrasion counter 
(Abrasion CNT) reset ” on page 7-34.
