Drive/Tape Cartridge Status
The following status types for drives and tape cartridges are displayed. The status types that are listed in
are added to the status types that are listed in

Status name
Description
Initializing
Indicates that initialization is under way after drive power-on.
No Tape
Indicates that no tape cartridge is inserted.
Loading
Indicates that the drive is being loading.
Ready
Indicates that the drive is read/write ready after loading is complete.
Write Protected
Indicates that the loaded tape cartridge is write protected.
Rewinding
Indicates that the tape cartridge is being rewound.
Reading
Indicates that the tape cartridge is being read.
Writing
Indicates that the tape cartridge is being written to.
Erasing
Indicates that the tape cartridge is being erased.
Locating
Indicates that the tape cartridge is being located.
Unloading
Indicates that the drive is being unloaded.
Unloaded
Indicates that the unloading is completed.
Cleaning
Indicates that cleaning is under way after a cleaning cartridge is loaded.
Required Clean
Indicates that the drive requires cleaning.
Need Clean
Indicates that the drive requires cleaning.
(In this state, only a cleaning cartridge can be loaded.)
Error
Indicates that an error occurred in the drive.
Its error code is also displayed.
FAN Alarm
Indicates that the cooling fan in the drive unit has failed.
Media Error
Indicates that an error occurred in the loaded tape cartridge.
Updating
Indicates that the firmware of the drive is being updated.
Power Off
Indicates that the power is off.
Not Installed
Indicates that no drive is installed.
Status name
Description
XXX / Not Connect
Indicates that the FC cable is not connected.
XXX / Offline
Indicates that the drive is offline.
XXX / Trace Saving
Indicates that fault analysis data (trace data) is being collected automatically after the
occurrence of drive failure.
XXX / Prevent
Indicates that the drive is reserved by the host.
The reserved drive is excluded from the targets of manual drive ejection, and cannot be
ejected.
