To empty the water tank
(e.g. for water change), first turn the tank adjuster to level 1. Row at
least 10 strokes to fill the storage tank as completely as possible. Remove the tank plug. Now put
the rigid end of the siphon pump into the tank and the flexible hose into a large bucket. Empty the
tank (approx. 40 % water remains). For a water change, then fill the tank again by following the
instructions for filling the tank.
Notes:
•
The valve on the top of the siphon pump must be closed so that the water can drain
properly.
•
Water treatment eliminates the need to change the tank water if all water treatment
instructions are followed. An additional water treatment tablet is only necessary if
discolouration of the water occurs.
•
Full sunlight will shorten the life of the water treatment tablets. If you do not store the unit
in direct sunlight, the time between water treatments will be extended.
•
Approx. 40% of the tank water always remains. It is not possible to empty the tank
completely without disassembly.
NOTE: For easy, fast and efficient filling and/or emptying of the tank, a battery-operated pump is
optionally available for purchase from specialist dealers. Contact the customer service if you
have any questions.
LONG-TERM WATER TREATMENT
The frequency of water treatment depends on sun exposure - expect 8-12 months near a bright,
sunlit window and 2 years or more in a darker location. If you find that the water is slightly
cloudy, add a water treatment tablet.
We recommend that you use a cloth under the tank when opening the tank cap for water
treatment.
RESISTANCE SETTING
You can regulate the rudder resistance with the tank adjuster:
When you adjust the resistance, it may take two more strokes before you feel an increase in
resistance and up to ten strokes before the resistance becomes noticeably lighter.
