Care, maintenance and disposal
General
Under normal operating conditions the welding system requires only a minimum of care
and maintenance. However, it is vital to observe some important points to ensure the weld-
ing system remains in a usable condition for many years.
Safety
At every start-up
-
Check mains plug, mains cable, welding torch, interconnecting hosepack and ground-
ing (earthing) connection for damage
-
Check that there is a gap of 0.5 m (1 ft. 8 in.) all around the device to ensure that cool-
ing air can flow and escape unhindered
If necessary
If a lot of dust has accumulated, remove the air filter on the rear of the housing from the
side and clean.
Every 2 months
-
If required, clean air filter using dry compressed air or by washing it.
Every 6 months

Dismantle device side panels and clean inside of device with dry reduced compressed
air
-
If a lot of dust has accumulated, clean the cooling air ducts.
Disposal
Dispose of in accordance with the applicable national and local regulations.
WARNING!
An electric shock can be fatal. Before opening the device

Turn the mains switch to the "O" position

Unplug the machine from the mains
-
Prevent it from being switched on again
-
Using a suitable measuring instrument, check to make sure that electrically
charged components (e.g. capacitors) have discharged
WARNING!
Work that is carried out incorrectly can cause serious injury and dam-
age. The following activities must only be carried out by trained and qualified per-
sonnel. All instructions in the section headed "Safety rules" must be observed.
NOTE!
Air inlets and outlets must never be covered, not even partially.
CAUTION!
Risk of damage. The air filter must only be fitted when dry.
NOTE!
Risk of damage to electronic components. Do not bring air nozzle too
close to electronic components.
