7.2. Wiring considerations
NOTE:
the connection to battery is required for parallel operation.
The recommended size of cables and terminals for the batteries connected to each inverter is included in the table
below.
Battery cable size for each inverter
WARNING:
All battery cables must the same length and wire size. Otherwise, the voltage difference between the
inverters and batteries will prevent the inverters from working in parallel, potentially damaging the units.
AC input and output cable size for each inverter
All the cables of each inverter must be tied together. This means that the battery cables coming from the inverters, for
example, need to be wired using a bus bar as a joint for all them. The bus bar is then connected to the battery terminals.
The cable size used to tie the batteries should be “X” times larger than the recommended AWG gauge whereby. “X”
indicates the number of inverters connected in parallel. To properly dimension the recommended AWG from both tables
above, divide the AWG value by “X” (whereby X represents the number of inverters working in parallel).
Follow the same principle for AC input and output connections.
WARNING!!
All output Neutral wires of each unit must remain connected at all times. Otherwise, inverter fault with error
code #72 will be triggered.
CAUTION!!
Install a circuit breaker between the battery and AC input source. This is needed for battery or AC overcurrent
protection, and also as a manual disconnect device during maintenance. The recommended mounting location of the
breakers is shown in the figure included in the following section.
Breaker specification of battery per inverter (recommended)
*If you want to use only one breaker at the battery side for the whole system, the rating of the breaker should be X times
the current of 1 unit, whereby the “X” represents the number of inverters connected in parallel.
