NOTE: For our purposes we will use the Generic Electronic
Module (GEM) as an example. The steps required for other
Body or Chassis modules are similar.
SELECTING GEM FUNCTIONS
The GEM functions are available through the NGS diagnostic
data link menu. Selecting GEM - GENERIC ELECTRONIC
MODULE brings up the GEM menu window. GEM is one of the
few modules that require set up in order to accurately
diagnose concerns. Answer the option questions on the
screen. it is important to anwer the questions correctly.
Answering yes to a question allows the NGS to display all
codes that the module sends that are related to that system. If
you answer no, the NGS "filters" codes related to that part of
the system, and on some systems the PID list is modified. To
toggle YES or NO, select the system and press the TRIGGER.
When you have made all your selections, press SAVE.
