NOTES

MENU TREE

The chart on page 3-3 shows the current menus and tests
available to the user of the New Generation Star tester.

These menus fall into three categories:

SET-UP MENUS

This menu allows the user to adjust certain NGS parameters,
e.g. LCD contrast.

VEHICLE SPECIFIC MENUS

These menus run tests on specified vehicles. They require that
a vehicle and an engine be selected before proceeding.

TOOL FUNCTION MENUS

These menus are for using the NGS as a generic diagnostic
tool. They can be used without specifically identifying the
vehicle being worked on. However, if a vehicle is selected PIDs
can be monitored while using tool functions.
