Start communicating with the system
Before you can start talking to the system
you first have to press the VOICE button
or the MODE button for each operation and
wait until the system answers with a beep.

Audible feedback
After issuing a voice command or pressing
the VOICE button the system will respond,
if necessary, by way of an audible prompt.
Use these responses to lead you through
the necessary dialogue to achieve the
required control. The command process is
designed to be easy to use, and will
automatically prompt you with the
available options to proceed if you say
something that the system does not
understand, or if you say nothing at all.
Visual feedback via the navigation
screen
Voice control enables you to operate the
applications described within the system
while driving, keeping both hands on the
steering wheel and your eyes on the road.
The system is designed to avoid having to
pay attention to the navigation screen.
Nevertheless, the system shall also provide
some visual feedback to support your
understanding of the voice recognition
process. Visual feedback is presented in a
way that relevant information can be
understood with few and short glances.
During a voice dialogue a pop-up window
is shown, consisting of (from top to
bottom):
• Listening status : A microphone icon
indicates whether the system is ready
for your voice command or not.
• Headline : The headline informs you
about the context of the current
dialogue (for example which
application, which dialogue sequence,
etc.)
• Command list : There may be several
lines available to show you which
commands can be used in the current
dialogue. If there are too many
commands to be shown, only the main
commands are displayed. You can
activate the next page(s) of the
pop-up showing further commands
with the command "More Help" or
"General help" if available.
• Status line : The status line shows the
last recognized voice command.
