Open Terminal from the Accessory group of Program Manager (below). If a terminal 

configuration file already exists, e.g., 

host.trm

, select the desired file using the 

Open command from the File menu and go to Step 7. Otherwise, go to  

Step 5.

Select the Communications command from the Setting menu. Enter the RS-232 

parameters that match those selected at the 5820A Calibrator for the Host port. If 

using the 5820A factory defaults, the Communications dialog box for COM1 will 

appear as shown below. Select COM as required. Click OK.

Verify the 5820A Calibrator is powered and in the reset condition. (If in doubt, press

 on the 5820A Calibrator front panel.)

On the Terminal screen, type the command REMOTE and press

. Observe 

the 5820A Calibrator Control Display changes to REMOTE CONTROL (below).
